The 2013 Le Dragon de Quintus has a light nose with brambly black fruit, forest floor and touches of black truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with soft red fruit. It's a little hollow and missing some grip, though the finish has satisfying purity. Just a bit ordinary. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting.

Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2013 Le Dragon de Quintus gives up notes of dried herbs and tilled soil over a vague core of stewed black plums and raspberry leaves with a touch of charcoal. Medium-bodied, the palate is pleasantly refreshing, with some bright red berry and herbal flavors and a chewy texture, finishing with a lively lift.

Bordeaux

Red Bordeaux, globally renowned, is crafted in France’s Bordeaux region from grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. These full-bodied wines feature dark fruit flavours, earthy and spicy notes, and often benefit from ageing. Top producers include Château Margaux, Château Latour, and Château Lafite Rothschild. White Bordeaux, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, offers styles from crisp to rich, with citrus and tropical notes. Sweet Bordeaux wines, like Sauternes, are famed for their rich sweetness and flavours of apricot and honey, with Château d’Yquem as a leading producer.
